Walled Lake Central

Softball: Lakeland 11-12, Walled Lake Central 2-9. Lakeland’s Kaley Miller went 4-for-4 (two HR, four RBI), Madeline Langdon went 2-for-3, and Rianna Koteles finished 2-for-2 and knocked in two runs. In game two, Chase Schultz recorded the win in the circle for Lakeland. Offensively, the Eagles were led by Langdon (2-for-4, HR, and three RBI), Miller (HR and three RBI) and Koteles (2-for-3, 2 RBI.)

Baseball: Lakeland 4-9, Walled Lake Central 5-0. Kyle Weir’s single brought home two runs to tie the game up. One batter later, Drew Temple laid down a squeeze bunt to plate Weir and give the Vikings the lead. Cooper Dundas picked up the win on the mound for Central, and Christian “Big Papi” Hakim smacked a two-run double. The Eagles took the nightcap behind a solid pitching performance by Cass Phillips. Lakeland’s Trent Farquhar’s squeeze bunt allowed Owen Christmas to break the scoreless tie in the fifth inning. Lakeland would go on to score eight more times to run away with the 9-0 win.

Walled Lake Western

Baseball: Walled Lake Western 11-5, Waterford Kettering 1-4. In the five-inning opener, junior Scott Shingleton tossed five innings and yielded five hits while striking out three on the mound, freshman Noah Megyesi finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored, senior Kevin Guggemos tallied a home run, and sophomore Aidan Jennings was 3-for-3 with four RBI. In the second game, Jennings’ walk off singled plated Guggemos and Evan Pointer to earn the 5-4 victory. Offensively, the Warriors were led by Guggemos (2-for-2, two BB, three stolen bases, RBI), Megyesi (2-for-3, RBI) and Joey George (2-for-4.) Bryce Stuart allowed three hits and struck out four in six innings pitched, and Davis Hixson earned the win pitching in relief for Western.

Walled Lake Northern

Softball: Lakeland 13, Walled Lake Northern 1. Teresa Menzel picked up the complete game victory in the circle for Lakeland. Madeline Langdon went 3-for-3, and Rianna Koteles was 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI. Northern’s Courtney Callahan went 2-for-3. The Knights came into the game as the top-ranked team in the MHSSCA Division 1 Rankings.

Baseball: Walled Lake Northern 8-12, Waterford Mott 4-9. Offensively, the Knights were led by Landon Hunt (3-for-4, two HR, three RBI), Nick Powell (3-for-4, two RBI) and Jake Frelich (3-for-4.) Cooper VanMaele picked up the win in relief. In the nightcap, Powell (2-for-3, five RBI) hit a grand slam and drove in five runs, and Carter Farr went 2-for-3 (HR, three RBI.) Powell also picked up the win on the mound, and Domenick Florenzano recorded the save.

Walled Lake Northern 5, Lakeland 2. In the battle for the top spot in the KLAA North, the Knights led from start to finish. Knocking in runs for the Knights were Robert Jones, Corbin Gibson and Zach Brunet. Junior righthander Zach Northcutt picked up the win for Northern.

Walled Lake Northern 5, Walled Lake Central 1. Junior Jake Haver pitched a complete game on the mound and fanned ten batters. Offensively, the Knights were led by Zach Brunet (3-for-4, RBI), Kyle Gilbert (2-for- 3, RBI) and Carter Farr, who homered.
