Meals on Wheels Site Hostess Needed

The Meals on Wheels Program is in need of a site hostess for our Holly location. Prepare routes for our homebound seniors and serve congregate seniors. This position is Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, contact Cathy Wormsbacher at 810-632-2155.

Volunteers Needed for Meals on Wheels

The Meals on Wheels Program is in need of volunteers to deliver hot meals to our homebound seniors. Current need is for Western Oakland County, including Holly and West Bloomfield. We would love the opportunity for you to be part of our team of volunteers. This is a commitment of 1-2 hours of your time, as little or as often as your schedule will permit. Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. April 21-23

Fuse Theater Company, in partnership with Huron Valley Council for the Arts, is proud to present Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. Enjoy songs you know like Conjunction Junction, I’m Just a Bill, Three is a Magic Number, and more. One dollar from each ticket sale will be donated to the elementary or middle school music program of your choice. Performances are April 21 and 22 at 7 p.m. and April 23 at 2 p.m. at the Lakeland High School Center for the Performing Arts (1630 Bogie Lake Road, White Lake.) Cockadoodle Doo Chicken Show April 22

Hens on tour starring showgirls Bettylou Bantam, Rhonda Rhode Island Red and friends. The hens are tame and friendly, the presenter informative and fun. This program includes fascinating facts on fowl, poultry petting, music, audience participation and everything you ever wanted to know about chickens. Baby chicks will also be on hand. How to Balance Family Financial Planning Goals April 22

Learn all about personal finance in this educational seminar presented by Sandy Adams, certified financial planner, from the Center for Financial Planning. She will present a PowerPoint, provide handouts, and discuss topics such as saving for education versus retirement. Winter’s End Concert Featuring Magic Bus April 22

St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus Council 13319 is sponsoring a charity concert featuring the local band, Magic Bus. Music of the Woodstock era will be featured. Locally craft beer from the River’s Edge Brewery, wine and other refreshments will be available. Tickets are $20 in advance and available at the St. Patrick Parish office, online at bit.ly/KocWECMB or eventbrite.com and at the door. Ticket price includes one free adult beverage. SouthSide Concert/Fundraiser April 22

The VFAA’s SHAC (Suzanne Haskew Art Center) is the location of this third in a series of four concerts to benefit the SHAC’s programs. Featured headliner is southeast Michigan-based Taller Than They Appear, a band of songwriters delivering original music from Americana folk to earthy blues. Cover charge is by $5 donation. Money Camp April 26

Join the Highland-White Lake Business Association for a night of family fun and finances, April 26 at the Highland Township Library (444 Beach Farm Circle) starting at 5 p.m. This program includes classes for 1st-5th graders, middle school and high schoolers, and adults. Spring Used Book Sale May 3-6

Buy books at the Wixom Public Library, 49015 Pontiac Trail, Spring Used Book Sale, sponsored by The Friends of the Wixom Library. Advance sale for Friends Members only on Wednesday, May 3 (memberships available at the door.) Public sale begins Thursday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will run Friday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday-Fill a bag $5. Thousands of books and multimedia items for all ages, price between 25 cents and one dollar, plus specially priced items.
