Walled Lake Central

Girls basketball: Walled Lake Western 33, Walled Lake Central 16. Hannah Douglas led the Vikings with five points. Central concluded the season at 1-21.

Boys basketball: Walled Lake Western 51, Walled Lake Central 45. In the district final at Walled Lake Western, senior Runako Ziegler led the Vikings with 25 points. With the loss, Central concludes the season at 15-7.

Walled Lake Western

Girls basketball: Walled Lake Western 40, Milford 25. Junior guard Janara Flowers had a game-high 22 points to lead Western to the district-opening-win. Milford was led by Mallory Barrett, who scored 19 of her team’s 25 points.

Walled Lake Western 33, Walled Lake Central 16. Junior guard Janara Flowers scored a game high 13 points. Western went on a 29-2 run to start the game. With the win, the Warriors advanced to the district title game.

Walled Lake Western 43, Walled Lake Northern 24. Junior guard Janara Flowers scored a game-high 16 points, Jordan Walczyk added 10 points and sophomore Kailee Ford chipped in with nine points for Western. The Warriors won the district championships for the first time in 29 seasons (1988.)

Walled Lake Western 48, Novi 42. Janara Flowers hit five three-point baskets to lead the Warriors with 22 points. Kailee Ford added 16 points, and senior forward Ericka Van Maele hit five crucial free throws to seal the regional semi-final victory for Western. The victory was the first regional win in 34 seasons for Western (1983.)

Farmington Hills Mercy 35, Walled Lake Western 14. Senior center Alyssa Murray led the Warriors with four points. Western concluded the season at 20-5, winning back-to-back city championships, the first-ever KLAA North title in school history, the first district title since 1988 and the first regional win since 1983. The team’s 20 wins set the school record for victories.

Boys basketball: Walled Lake Western 50, Milford 46. Western was led by senior Delano Smith, who scored a game-high 19 points in the district opening game. Senior Cody White added 12 points. Dominic Dawson (21 points) and Reid Sellers (11 points) led Milford (12-9.)

Walled Lake Western 49, Walled Lake Northern 45. The Warriors’ Cody White scored 17 points, and Delano Smith contributed 15 to help lead the Warriors to the district title game. Greg Windom added eight points for Western.

Walled Lake Western 51, Walled Lake Central 45. Delano Smith scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Warriors to their first district title since 2004. Senior Cody White added 12 points and eight rebounds for Western, who moves on to regional play at Walled Lake Northern.

Walled Lake Northern

Girls basketball: Walled Lake Northern 42, Lakeland 41. The Knights were led Courtney Callahan with 12 points and Faith Fredericks with 10 points. Northern was down 15 points at the start of the fourth quarter. Sam Cannon’s three-pointer in the game’s closing minute gave the Knights their first lead of the game. Lakeland was paced by Skylar Baer, who scored 16 points.

Walled Lake Western 43, Walled Lake Northern 24. In the district championship at Walled Lake Northern, junior guard Courtney Callahan led the Knights with 12 points. With the loss, Northern concluded the season at 8-14.

Boys basketball: Walled Lake Western 49, Walled Lake Northern 45. The Knights were led by Jalen Kelso, who scored a game-high 22 points. Senior Ethan Ancick added 11 points before fouling out with three minutes left in the contest. With the loss, Northern concludes the season at 14-7.
