AMVETS Meeting November 25

The AMVETS meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m. at Bakers in Milford. There is a social hour following the meeting with pizza and drinks. All veterans are welcome to attend. Please call Gordon at 248-684-2412 with any questions.

Hunger Games Tribute Training Camp November 22

Village of Wolverine Lake Bus Trip December 31

The Village of Wolverine Lake is having a bus trip to the Red Wings/New Jersey Devils game on December 31. The bus will leave Clara Miller Park at 6 p.m. and the game starts at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $55 each and are in section 204A & 204B rows 18 & 19. Thanksgiving Appreciation Day November 27

The Metroparks have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving … YOU! In honor of your patronage, all 13 Metroparks will waive vehicle entry fees and boat launch fees on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27.

Tracking the Wild Turkey November 29

Tracking The Wild Turkey will take place at the Environmental Discovery Center at Indian Springs on November 29 at 1 p.m. Come learn about these large game birds, make a turkey caller, and then take a hike to track the Wild Turkey. Ages 6 and up; cost: $5 per person. NOTE: Adult chaperones must attend with their children. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the program begins for check-in and to enjoy the pond dome! Cookie Exchange November 19

Come and participate in a cookie exchange on November 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. This cookie exchange will be just in time for Thanksgiving. Bring three dozen of your favorite cookies and take three dozen others away in exchange. Everyone welcome! Cookie exchange will take place at the Highland Adult Activity Center, 209 N. What do Muslims really believe? This program will be an examination of the central beliefs of Islam from a historical perspective that are the basics of belief of 520 million people worldwide, as presented by OCC Professor Emeritus Dennis Fiems. Broadview Christmas Tree Farm Opening November 22

The Broadview Christmas Tree Farm will open on November 22. Come and experience all the charm and outdoor adventure of an old-fashion winter hayride. One BIG night, DOUBLE the fun! Family Movie Night November 21

On November 21 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Oakpointe Church has a double dose of Dragons for you: “How to Train Your Dragon” 1 and 2 along with Veggie Tales new feature: “Celery Night Fever”! Plus, you’ll enjoy free games, crafts, dragon hunts, face painting, prizes, popcorn and more! Grab your pillows and invite your friends, family, classmates and co-workers. Chi-Town Union Station December 8

On December 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. the whole family is invited to hear the story of the world’s largest O-scale model railroad located in Union Lake! Learn about model railroading and be entered into a drawing for free admission to the museum. Please register by calling 248-698-4942 ext. 2.

Family Movie Night November 21

Friday Movie Night on November 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Milford United Methodist Church, located at 1200 Atlantic Street in Milford. Looking For Singers For Big Chief Chorus

All men who like to sing are invited to join us for a Christmas Chorus. We are a barbershop style group who meet Tuesday nights at the Oakland County Activity Center at 2881 Watkins Lake Road in Waterford. We meet from 7:30 to 10 p.m. for rehearsal in November, and begin singing for nursing homes Tuesdays and Thursdays in December until December 23. For further info call Eric at 248-224- 2214.

Harry Potter Movie Marathon November 22

The Wixom Public Library will host a Harry Potter Movie Marathon on November 22 for students in grades 5 – 12 starting at 12 p.m. The year of celebrating Harry Potter continues with a showing of the last two movies “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” Part 1 and 2 (PG-13). Rottermond Jewelers 18th Annual Sharing Christmas with Others

This is an annual tradition of helping the local families in need of assistance. There will be an opportunity to choose one or more of he following adoption packages for either a boy or a girl. There are three groups and two package ideas. Infant, toddler, and youth. In the package it should have mittens, hat, and board book OR pajamas and board game (youth), pajamas and toddler toy (toddler) or pajamas and baby toy (infant.) All gifts are due to Rottermond in Milford by Friday December 5. The items need to be packaged in a gift bag and labeled girl or boy and if it is an infant, toddler or youth for ease of distribution.
